Presented in the original silver aluminium tubes this truly iconic cigar has been allowed to age, in Cuba, for between five to eight years before release.  The extra age has mellowed this medium-bodied cigar, rounding off much of the exuberance of youth and bringing a softer, balanced, and more floral smoke. Montecristo 90th Anniversary

In 2025, Montecristo celebrates its 90th anniversary and to mark the occasion Hunters & Frankau Ltd has curated a special selection of ten years aged Montecristo cigars. 

This Hunters & Frankau House Reserve Special Release features 135 numbered boxes of ten aged cigars representing four of the five sizes selected to launch the brand in 1935:

and Montecristo No.5.

In addition, 100 numbered boxes of the most acclaimed 2012 Habanos Limited Edition Montecristo 520 are included as part of this very special celebratory release.

All cigars bear a foot band that identified the Hunters & Frankau Aged, and Rare House Reserve and all the boxes has been wrapped in a distinctive band that marks the occasion .

The much-anticipated Bolivar Regentes is the 2021 Habanos Limited Edition and measures 5 1/8” (130mm) x 52 ring gauge. The vitola is known as a Discretos in the world-famous cigar factories of Cuba.

The Bolivar Regentes shares its dimensions with the Partagás Maduros No.1 and delivers voluminous rounded smoke to the palate which is balanced with intense layered flavours and rich aromas. A signature for this powerful Habanos brand.

All the tobacco for the Bolivar Regentes has been aged for a minimum of two years which from 2007 was a standard introduced to all leaves destined to become an Edición Limitada Habano.

Although this is perhaps not a cigar for the novice, the characteristics make it one of the most sought-after marques among more experienced cigar smokers and for collectors looking to round the robust, rich aromas even further by laying them down to age.

Serie V Melanio is hand rolled using expertly fermented ligero fillers, leaves known for their robust and rich flavour. Five years in the making, these special cigars are sure to exceed a premium cigar smoker’s highest expectations. This skill and dedication was rewarded in 2014 when the Serie V Melanio Figurado was named Cigar Aficionado Cigar of the Year.

The long filler tobaccos are a blend of Oliva Nicaraguan Habano that emphasises tobacco from the Jalapa region, an area known for a more nuanced leaf than the Estelí or Condega regions. This carefully aged Jalapa blend produces a particularly flavoured smoke.
