La Gloria Cubana was established in 1885 and after changing hands a few times production was transferred to the Partagas factory in 1954, an arrangement that continues to this day. This somewhat reclusive brand has seen more attention by being selected to feature as amHabanos Regional Edition in recent years, including in 2008 (Glorioso) and 2017 (Britanicas Extra) in the UK. With more cigar lovers discovering the appeal of the blend, it is no surprise that calls for a return to the standard Habanos s.a.portfolio were answered.
The Turquinos is named after Pico Turquino, Cuba’s highest mountain and part of the famous Sierra Maestra mountain range in the southeast of the island.
These cigars are a classic Gordito size, measuring 5 ½” (141mm) x 50 ring gauge and are presented in labelled boxes of 10 cigars. Each piece is hand rolled using tobaccos harvested from Vuelta Abajo in Pinar Del Rio, Cuba which is widely regarded as the finest tobacco growing region in the world.
